Statement from Associate Minister Renee Reid....

Reverend Renee P. Reid is married to Deacon Wendell K. Reid and is the mother of two daughters, Tiara M. McKeithan and Tia K. Reid, currently residing in Suffolk, Virginia. She was born the only daughter of five children to William and the late Amanda L. Porter. She was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and raised in Newsoms, Virginia by her grandparents, the late James and Georgia Mason.

Renee was baptized at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church by Pastor Rodger S. Steele. She graduated from South Hampton High School, and later moved to Maryland, where she joined Second Baptist Church South West, Washington, DC, where she was under the leadership of Dr. Joseph H. Franklin and the late Rev. Timothy L. Burno, Jr.

She continued her education at Chesapeake Business Institute in Forestville, Maryland and later at Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2002, Renee enrolled at the International College of Bible Theology where she obtained an Associate Degree of Practical Theology. She plans to further her studies with a goal of obtaining a Master of Divinity Degree. Rev. Reid is currently attending Roanoke Theological Seminary where she will graduate in 2012 with a Bachelors in Divinity.

Renee has served at Mt. Ararat Christian Church as an Associate Minister, a member of the Senior Choir, Sunday School Assistant Superintendent, Youth Sunday School teacher, Chairperson of the Women’s Ministry, Chairperson of the Beautification Ministry, and a member of the Helping Hands Ministry. She also served as a Deaconess for seven years. Rev. Reid was ordained in 2009 under the leadership of Dr. H. H. Murrill. She currently serves as the Associate Minister.

Renee is employed by Liberty Baptist Church as a school teacher. She also enjoys her hobbies of shopping, decorating, cooking, and reading as well as spending time with her family and friends.

Renee believes that the Lord will continue to order her steps.
